Tis the Season

Well, the Holiday Season is upon us once more. For Daddy and I it means juggling three different families. Daddy's parents are divorced and his dad is remarried which is different for me since my parents are somehow still together even after the hell my brother and I have put them through :D. Daddy's dad and step mom (now referred to as Mamo and Papi) always get early Thanksgiving Day and Christmas morning. Since it's not just us but also Mamo's two daughters and son and their respective spouses and children it wouldn't be fair for us to move them around so we leave them as is. My parents (Granddaddy and GiGi) and Daddy's mom (Grammy) are on a weird sort of rotating schedule. My family always has a big Thanksgiving with all of my aunts and uncles and cousins that's on a random day in November so we just go to that and Grammy gets Thanksgiving evening. I feel bad for Grammy getting the later Thanksgiving because Violet is always tired and cranky and the food is still at least an hour away from being done by the time we get there. We always end up needing to leave earlier than we'd like to just because Violet goes into complete meltdown mode. This year for Christmas we're going to Grammy's on Christmas Eve (she's not totally thrilled but it's her year) and my parents for Christmas afternoon and getting together again with my whole family at some point this month. I'm actually really excited for Christmas this year because Violet is just discovering Santa and decorating and the Christmas movies. It kind of makes me long for the days when I used to sneak out of my room to see all the things I had gotten and to recount the Cokes in the house to make sure Santa was real :). Yes, I gave Santa and the reindeer Coca-Cola and carrots so they'd be healthy and have energy for the long ride. I also felt Santa would prefer to drink something with his face on it. Anyway, this post isn't super exciting but it's 3 in the morning so you get what you get.
